A few weeks ago I asked people what they wanted me to draw about next.
One of the responses were “For what in your life do you feel most grateful?”
Of course it got me thinking about things that I could be grateful for, despite the current circumstances.
You see gratitude is ultimately as state of mind.
It’s a way of thinking.
Not extremest may I add. As a Marvel Fan, we’re not talking a Thanos Esq mindset.
Nor a sunshine and rainbows glitter filled state of mind.
It’s just an appreciation for where you are, right now.
What got you here?
As Mr Dickens says
“Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.” —Charles Dickens
So there’s no better time to put together a gratitude list.
In today’s video I explore bubbles of gratitude. I figured that focusing on being grateful in this mindful task was a perfect opportunity to cultivate that mindset.
I think this week it’s all about you generating your list and using the art to help you focus.
I provided a template below to generate your list.
I’ve even got a challenge to see if you can think of something for every single bubble in the template.
Some probing questions are below
- Name something that has happened in the last week that you were grateful for.
- Name someone who has inspired you in your life.
- Favourite sound.
- Write down the a moment in your life that you’re glad happened.
- Favourite food.
- A location that you love.
- Favourite book.
- A goal you achieved.
- Favourite piece of tech…
I could write a long list but focus on people, places, objects, things….
Of course it’s a shorter post today but it will allow time for you to reflect upon the things that we should be grateful for.
Oh and here’s what I’m grateful for. My Mom and my biggest fan!
My Mom has been such a fan that she’s started to give it a go herself.
